Harder isn't always better

You know when your REBEL teacher gives you a few options and your brain immediately goes:

Obviously, I should do the hardest one.

Yeah. We need to talk about that. šŸ˜‚

There is ALWAYS a way to make something harder on the reformer. Add resistance. Take resistance away. Add an arm. Add a leg. Make the range bigger. Balance on fewer body parts. Basically, we can keep finding ways to torture you.

But harder doesn't automatically mean better.

Sometimes the bigger challenge is actually slowing the hell down, making the movement smaller and controlling every inch of it.

You've probably noticed that this month with our twists. You might be doing one version one day and a completely different version in another class. You might even find yourself thinking, Wait, shouldn't I be doing the harder one by now?

Not necessarily.

The goal isn't to collect advanced exercises like they're Girl Scout badges.

The goal is to get stronger.

So this week, when your teacher gives you options, try something different:

Don't automatically pick the one that sounds hardest.

Pick the one where you can feel your body working AND stay in control.

And if you're not sure which one that is? Ask us.

That's what we're here for.

See you on the reformer.
