You're stronger than you think

One of the coolest things about Pilates is that sometimes you don't realize how much stronger you're getting until something outside the studio feels easier.

Maybe you're carrying groceries without thinking twice.

Maybe getting up off the floor doesn't feel like such a production anymore.

Maybe your back isn't complaining as much.

Or maybe you notice that a movement on the reformer that used to kick your ass is suddenly a whole lot easier.

That's strength showing up in real life.

This month, we're exploring quadruped, working from our hands and knees.

And I'll be the first to admit, quadruped is not one of my favorite positions. I struggle with it too! Just because I own a Pilates studio doesn't mean every movement comes easily to me. Some of them still kick my ass.

But that's also why I appreciate it. Quadruped challenges our core, shoulders and hips in ways that help us build strength and stability.

And here's the thing...

We're not just building strength to do more Pilates. We're building strength to do more LIFE.

So next time you're in class, pay attention to what feels different. What feels stronger? What feels more controlled?

And if you've noticed a little victory lately, don't forget to add it to our new Community Board.

Because those little wins are kind of a big freaking deal.
